Anyone else read/reading this? I'm almost done and enjoying it as something that feels quite different.

Yes I have read it and loved it! Have recommended it to so many friends. One of the best books about motherhood and family I can remember reading...

It is nothing like I expected and sometimes I find it hard to like her, but I guess that is the point! For anyone wondering, it is about a girl who has passed through many foster placements that fail and the story follows her as she turns 18, wrestling with attachment difficulties and her fears/resistance to develop relationships. There is also love and flowers and babies. That is a pretty rubbish synopsis but honestly it really is worth a look.

Yes I thought she was a damaged heroine, but in a really convincing way. And I cried at the end. Is a very good advertisement for fostering children! Would have convinced me to do it if I had more time/money/energy...
