Anyone read anything by Donald Ray Pollock?

I saw good reviews for him somewhere, andordered a couple of his books from A mazon.
I've just started "Knockemstiff" ....intertwined stories about a small town in Ohio.
Lake Woebegon it isn't.
Very dark with strange characters, but very compelling.

I've not heard of him. Off to investigate on Amazon :). You mention Lake Woebegon - Garrison Keillor - I read some of his stuff a while ago and really enjoyed them.

I'm reading the devil all the time.love it. not for the faint heated though, very dark and gritty. have ordered knockemstiff already.
