What a dull book. I honestly don't think I can give it my all. If anyone has read it, would you care to give me a quick resume from beginning to end. Thanks

I've read Lasting Damage, and that was quite a gripping story but did take quite a while to get going.

I lost the will to live during that book, OP. I started out quite liking Sophie Hannah but good heavens, 'The Other Half Lives' is dreadful. Seriously, don't even start with the plot. It's not worth unravelling.

Yes I started this - iirc the premise was that someone had admitted to mudering a woman who wasn't actually dead. And in the book various characters ask themselves this question over and over again, with increasing hysteria...and I'm thinking -I know that can we get on with the plot? I think I was about a third of the way through and nothing was actually happening and so I gave up.

Little Face is better (although not perfect) and I bought a short story collection by her - the 1st story was brilliant, the rest dissapointing. So IMO she's a bit hit and miss.

Hurting Distance was good although quite chilling and disturbing; not the sort of crime book I'd want an early-teen to be reading. Little Face was also quite good, but I think the quality of her writing is deteriorating now sadly.

I met SH with her mum, Adele Geras (the children's author) at an author event a few years ago. Both of them lovely engaging women, and Sophie spoke interestingly about the creepy stalkerish boyfriend who was the inspiration behind one of her books.
