Read this book in 2 days and I would highly recommend this book.
IMO its well written, accessible and explores a fairly taboo subject.
The right to take your own life. Dealt with beautifully. Loved the characters and I know it will stay with me for days.

Im glad I read this. It manages to be easy reading and acutely thought provoking. Huge lump in throat at the end. It's stayed with me for days.

whereismywine · 06/03/2012 20:37

miller just saw you wrote that too! I've been glum of late and this brought me up sharp.

Jess25 · 07/03/2012 08:31

I read this and loved it. In fact I almost don't want to read another book again as this was so good I don't want to ruin its memory. Have just started Warhorse as this is so different.

Inti · 13/03/2012 21:30

sorry - just seen this thread!

donotsquandertime · 19/03/2012 20:24

I really loved this book - best read so far this year (and i read a lot!) an unusual subject to cover in a story, but handled brilliantly - made me feel guilty for being such a grumps over trivial worries.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/03/2012 14:26

Loved this so much I've bought it for my Mum.

nobutyeahbut · 03/04/2012 17:25

I brought this yesterday in WHSmith clearance section...glad i did now, will read next.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 06/04/2012 08:53

Have you read it yet nobut? My Mum phoned me 2 days after I gave it to her to tell me how much she'd loved it and she's never even said thank you for a book before!

PieMistress · 15/04/2012 20:40

Just finished it - there were tears! Great story.

dontcallmehon · 15/04/2012 20:52

Loved this too. Was sobbing at the end.

DontHaveAtv · 17/04/2012 16:19

Finished this today. Brilliant, really recommend!

SweetTheSting · 17/04/2012 23:08

Just finished it too! Now I'm a bit late to bed but I was really caught up in the story!

Rowood · 28/04/2012 17:57

Totes amaze book. Effin loved every minute although it broke my heart at the end.

LavenderCakes · 02/05/2012 22:41

Hmm. Just finished it. Cried, obv, because I am a total sap, but felt used and dirty. Wasn't he just a bit too Heroic for anyone else? I mean, total respect for the idea of tackling severe disability AND right-to-die within the normally narrow boundaries of chicklit, but I felt Will conformed to every Mills n' Boon stereotype except the able-bodied one...

valiumredhead · 03/05/2012 16:43

Have just downloaded this - will report back later.

squeakytoy · 04/05/2012 10:34

I read it in two sittings too.. brilliant book.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/05/2012 10:40

Just started it, I have enjoyed The Ship of Brides but didn't much like the Peacock Emporium, I'll report back too.

PestoSansVesto · 08/05/2012 17:16

I started this yesterday afternoon and have just finished it.

Absolutely amazing book - I was gripped and felt very emotional too.

Am in a dilemma now, don't know what to read next.... Confused

valiumredhead · 08/05/2012 18:46

Ripped through it and LOVED every minute!! Anyone read anything else of hers?

I think it's the only book that has every made me properly cry - it was beautiful.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/05/2012 21:30

The Ship of Brides is excellent, it's set at the end of WWII and is about a group of Australian women who have married British servicemen and are travelling on a warship to be reunited with their in England.

The Peacock Emporium is about a rich girl opening a coffee shop cum gift shop that becomes the hub of her small town, also about her mother's life a generation earlier and the stories that unfold from it. I though this was a pleasant enough read, but not exceptional, it just didn't seem as original.

Half way through Me Before You now....
