Please don't read any further if you haven't read this book and want to!

I've just finished this book. I really want to discuss the ending with someone but I don't know anyone else who has read it!

I loved the voice of Harri, such an innocent abroad whilst dealing with the grim realities of day to day live. I was shocked by the ending - I wasn't expecting it to be all scooby doo wrapped up neatly but NOOOOooooooooooooo Sad Of course it made a very effective point but still

What did everyone else think of the ending?

I thought the ending was shocking but also inevitable in that it reflected (sadly) the realities of some children today

I really enjoyed the book

Yes, you have hit the nail on the head. I was sort of shocked but not iykwim. What did shock me was when I turned the next page (was reading on iPad) and there was no next page - the curse of e-reading I guess. I thought we would find out what happened although it seemed a foregone conclusion that he wouldn't make it Sad
I enjoyed it too, he was a funny character and very appealing with his love for Agnes and Poppy.
