TV Book Club Booklist 2012

I've had a look through the list here
and think the only one I'd definitely be interested in reading so far is Before I Go To Sleep, but I'll be watching the whole series to find out about the others.

Does anyone here watch the TV Book Club, and if so, what do think you might read?

I've read Before I go to Sleep, which was very good I thought and Into the Darkest Corner which was brilliant (this is a thread somewhere about it and consensus was virtually everyone agreed!). Dh reads a fiction book about once a year, is very fussy but really rated The Sisters Brothers as an enjoyable fairly easy - I will definitely read it at some point.

I mean to watch the programme but also forget about it, although not sure how insightful the reviews are of the ones I've seen. But I always enjoy seeing books discussed - prefer the Mariella Frostup prog (on Sky Arts I think although it's not on at the moment).

I would be interested in Before I go to sleep and The Rules of Civility, but the rest look a bit meh to be honest. Going to have a look at the Richard and Judy book club, they usually have quite a few good reads.

I think I'll probably read Before I Go To Sleep but I'm not really interested in the other ones, but will wait and see.

I do agree with you ninja, I think Richard and Judy often have the better choice of books. When they used to do the bookclub on their C4 show I ended up reading most of the books they recommended, but now the format has changed I'm really pushed to find even one that I like.

I keep meaning to watch Mariella Frostrup's book prog on Sky Arts but life just seems to get in the way! I only managed to watch one from the last series. But I do try to listen to the Radio 4 book progs on podcast whenever I can.

I'm currently reading Before I Go to Sleep. Am just over halfway through and enjoying it so far!

I have just read The Sisters Brothers for my book club. Really didn't fancy it at all and wasn't at all enthusiastic about the choice. But I loved it Smile. A really quick read, interesting and engrossing. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
