Women in a hotel room, novel starts with swearing ?

I read a recommendation for a book on here and forgot to note the title.

Several women invited to a hotel room of a younger woman, who is the daughter of one of the women. Daughter wants to find which lady is her biological mother.

As young women the older women all pretended to be pregnant to support/ help the friend who was pregnant.

Any ideas ?

Lace, by Shirley Conran, I think. Not that I've read it...

Is it Lace? Sounds very similar but its quite an old book now
