Have just watched the series of Game of Thrones and am hooked. I've ordered book 2 from the library - should I read book 1? was there anything the series missed? My mind is boggling from all the characters and story lines but am keen to get started.

I would recommend reading book 1... although the series was very true to the book, there are still some details in the book that will have been missed in the TV programme. I admit though, I've only ever read the books and not watched the programme but DP said there is definitely more in the book.

HTH and enjoy... they get very intense, fast paced and introduce so many characters! But so much happens and there are always maps and appendix's that help.

Oh you miss lots from not reading the book which you only realise about halfway through book 3. Some tiny details turn out to be very significant.

My fave book series ever perhaps apart from Harry Potter.

Definitely read all the books, you will love them Smile

(if the DC I'm pregnant with is a girl, she will be named after one of the characters!!)
