I assume one of you told me to?

I spent over £6 on a Kindle book so it had better be good...

I haven't read that one but her book 'Bel Canto' is an incredible read - I adored it. Keep us posted.

OK well that's positive at least :)

it was a 99p kindle book deal of the day a week or two ago, so I imagine it was discussed (and raved about) then?

If it had been 99p when I heard about it I would have bought it immediately for 99p though... not put it on a list and then bought it when I finished my previous book...

Still no clue why I have it, but it was good :)

Are you watching out for the Kindle deals of the day? I had it on my wishlist for the last few months because I loved her The Magician's Assistant and have been meaning to read more by her for years. I'm glad you liked it since you paid more than £6.

I really liked this book, was a great read.

I love all of Ann Patchett's books - and State of Wonder was one of her best.

I haven't read State of Wonder yet, but loved Bel Canto and really enjoyed Run. Have The Magician's Assistant on my to-read pile.

I was lucky enough to hear Ann Patchett talk at Hay-on-Wye although I hadn't heard of her and just went along on spec; she was such an intelligent and humorous woman. My favourite author of 2011.
