Hi - my husband, who usually is not a fan of fiction, has recently got into William Boyd. He's read Ordinary Thunderstorms, Restless and Any Human Heart.

Which other Boyd books would you recommend? Want to get some more for him for Christmas but I want to pick wisely!

Thanks!

Brazzaville Beach, The Blue Afternoon, A Good Man in Africa are all very good. Restless is not one of his better ones IMO

I would avoid the New Confessions, if he has just read AHH. They have a lot of overlap in terms of characters/plots. I regret reading them so close together.

I loved Armadillo too. Very different from Any Human Heart but quite darkly funny.
