and is it any good? After reading another thread on here recently I think I need to get out of my comfort zone and thought that reading a book blog might be a good idea.

Can you recommend one?

www.eurocrime.co.uk is v good, and links onto lots of other mainly crime fiction blogs.

I don't follow a blog etc but do belong to Good Reads which I find often points me towards authors I hadn't thought of etc

www.goodreads.com

It can seem a bit US based at first but if you look at the groups you will find there are a lot of UK based ones

Thanks mrs, will take a look [hsmile]

I write a book blog if you would like to take a look. A good mix of books with short but spoiler free reviews...

I would also recommend most highly John Self's blog - theasylum.wordpress.com/

which is followed by many other literary critics -

but dovegreyreader is very good too.

KevininCanada, "the kind of face you hate" (who also does good film reviews), Lizzie's Literary Life, Mookse & the Gripes: all very good indeed. Also Vulpes Libris is a decent general collaborative blog.

You could start with the book bloggers who are part of the Mumsnet network (of which I am one)?

I regularly read book blogs because you can find out what is trending, they introduce you to new books and you can find out what people are saying. I am sure you can find ones that appeal in the way they are written and the books they review. Hope you find ones you like.

JiltedJohnsGhoulie if you often find yourself trawling the 'Adult Fiction' threads looking for ideas, then you may well enjoy a book blog, although as tripfiction suggests, its often about finding someone with similar literary tastes.

Bloggers share something of themselves through their blog - experiences, lifestyle, opinions etc and if you follow regularly, you do get drawn into their world. I like that connection. I started writing a blog inthenickioftime.wordpress.com/ last year and regularly read lots of others.

I really like Learn This Phrase
Loads of great recs and reviews. I'm almost guaranteed to enjoy anything she rates but I guess that depends on what you like to read.

Vulpes Libris.
