I'm kind of thinking One Day (but without an arse of a bloke) I'm kind of thinking Bridges of Madison County (but without geriatrics) I'm kind of thinking Love Story (without death) I'm thinking Wuthering Heights (without the bonnet stuff)

I want to wallow dear Mumsnetters, I want to howl. I want to sit and listen to Leona Lewis (no, really) while sobbing into boxes of tissues.

Fill my Amazon basket with weepies please!

After you'd gone by Maggie O Farrell?

bagelmonkey · 05/09/2011 18:22

The time traveller's wife made me cry.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 05/09/2011 18:27

YY to both bagelmonkey's suggestions.

Harvesting the Heart by Jodi Picoult (not a typical JP formulaic)

Love the one You're With by Emily Giffin

Loads more but brain not working so here

The French are good at this kind of thing. Try Le Grand Meaulnes by Alain-Fournier or Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 05/09/2011 18:29

PS - if you really want to wallow, try some City & Colour or Adele

Vince and Joy by Lisa Jewell. Ive read it a couple of times. It reminds me of my first teenage love!

ForYourDreamsAreChina · 06/09/2011 09:59

Thank you lovelies! I've already cried at Vince and Joy- that is exactly the kind of hollering I want to do....and yes, Adele will do nicely in the background!

I think I read Bonjour Tristesse at school.....might dig that out again as well...

Any more?
