Some books just stay with you forever, don't they?

Izzy-Willy-Nilly is a book I have always remembered from my childhood.

I am reading it again right now Grin

Little Women (and the rest of the series), and The Secret Garden.

Loved them when I was younger, love them now!

All of the What Katy Did books (and there are 5 not 3!)

I just finished it...it was so good, and really interesting to read it with an adult mind.

what do you mean trillianastra that there are five What Katy Did books?! What have I missed?

TrillianAstra · 27/08/2011 20:59

What Katy Did (hurts back and becomes saint)
What Katy Did At School (boarding school without any shenanegans, teaches other girls to be more ladylike)
What Katy Did Next (accompanies rich windowed neighbour and daughter to Europe)
Clover (Clover take Phil to somewhere out West for healthy air)
In The High Valley (All the remaining girls get married, basically)

Now I'm really intrigued: Fantastic Fiction solves the mystery:

Katy did

  1. What Katy Did (1872)
  2. What Katy Did at School (1873)
  3. What Katy Did Next (1886)
  4. Clover (1888)
  5. In the High Valley (1890)

Must go hunting on abebooks (still stuck in paper mode - no newfangled Kindle for me. Yet.

I must re-read What Katy Did, I loved those as well.

Never knew about the last two books though!

TrillianAstra · 27/08/2011 21:06

They are quite sanctimonious about being good. But nice enough really.

PerryCombover · 27/08/2011 21:07

little women

Thelmapeace · 28/08/2011 14:43

All the 'Anne of Green Gables' books right through to 'Rilla of Ingleside'.

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/08/2011 14:45

I downloaded the first 3 Katy books as well!

And The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - which I had no recollection of reading, although I know I did.

Not read on my Kindle (yet) and I still have paperback copy but I downloaded Five Children and It by E Nesbit as well as all the Katy books (those I do and don't have).
