That's it. I am officially a prude. I can't bear sex scenes in books - not after The Slap, anyway. And I have just had to return another Australian book, Praise, to the library on account of all the rancid poking

The sex in the Slap is very offputting, terribly badly written.

Its all girth and thick members. Yuk.

yes SLAP was horrendous, def written from a mans perspective

vicious and horrible as I recall

I got rid of that book, didint finish it

BUT I did learn an awful lot from sex scenes in Lace and Princess Daisy as a teenager!

On Chesil Beach was acceptable, I thought. THAT'S how spinster-aunty I have become...

cyb I read some Molly Parkin when I was a teenager, think I learnt more from those novels than I'll ever need ShockGrin

It's not that I can't bear sex scenes. I can't bear badly-written sex scenes, which most of them are.
