picked this up at the library yesterday and have just finished it.
Reminiscent of early Stephen King, (It).
Really enjoyed it.

Have just looked on Amazon and there is a book called The Dead Path but it is saying not released yet

Mystery solved...it was published in Australia as THe dead path, but The Darkening here.
So is the same book.
