Good read - Old Filth by Jane Gardam

Just coming on here to recommend "Old Filth" and the sequel "The Man in the Wooden Hat" by Jane Gardam.
Really well written and full of surprises about characters who everyone (in the books) assumes are stuffy pillars of the community.

I loved Old Filth. I read it a few years ago, but I didn't realise there was a sequel, so thanks for that.

Yes the sequel (which I read first because someone gave it to me) is about his wife, Betty.
