What are you taking to read on holiday ?

If you're not going away - what have you lined up to read if you get the chance over the summer

Me - a July birthday means a £25 amazon voucher to fill my not-very-much used Kindle (was bought for holidays to reduce baggage I think by DH).

I am planning to fill it with -

Hmmm there was another one as well but can't remember what it was and can't find my list.

I have six weeks of camping starting on sunday and so far my kindle list is:

Wow 6 weeks camping slubber - that sounds ambitious - somewhere warm and dry I hope ?

Funnily enough I've remembered the other book - The 70s camping one...

Ooh, I'm very excited about reading The Bridge (obama biography) and a complete unknown to me (but I enjoyed the first few pages when I was in the library last) The Bastard of Istanbul.

I'm being realistic only taking two as I'll either be asleep early most evenings (fresh air of the west coast of Scotland combined with three under the age of four), or playing cards with family late into the night over a wee dram or two :)

well I've just come back from 12 days away and I read:
araminta hall: everything and nothing (following recommendation here)
joanna harris: blueeyedboy
leif enger: peace like a river
justin cartwright: to heaven by water
all of which were fabulous (and unrepresentative of my normal reading).
I also took but didn't get round to:
alice munro: runaway
joyce carol oates: my sister, my love
ali smith: the accidental
all of which I took from my 'to be read' shelf!

I love Moth Smoke. Very evocative.

I have lined up... The Girl with Glass Feet by Ali Shaw, Red April by Santiago Roncagliolo, and A Carpet Ride to Khiva by Christopher Aslan Alexander. All 99p in the Kindle summer sale and all had good reviews!

Overthemill--i just read your list and peace like a river was a wonderful book, i forgot all about it but now remember really enjoying it

I had a raid on our YMCA shop before our holiday in Italy (now long gone ) - got lots at 99p each, & only left a couple behind, because I enjoyed the rest so much!

The Insider by Piers Morgan (lots of great gossipy stuff, esp in the light of recent events!)
The Other Family by Joanna Trollope
Highland Fling by Katie Fforde (mind you that one was borderline leave-behind)
Love Falls by Esther Freud
