It's a short story by Edith Warton.
I read it today,in a compilation of ghost stories,and was really enjoying it only to meet with a very abrupt ending,and a frustrating one.
Has anyone read it,and if so do you have any theories/opinions about the ending? It's really bothering me.We never learn why the ghost took her to Mr Randford's house.Why Mr Randford was walking with a cane or what the ghost was trying to tell the maid.
