A couple of months ago I heard radio 4's book at bedtime and although I am sure I wrote it down correctly the book I have found by that name doesn't sound like the book.
This is what I remeber about the story.
A young couple with a child go over to a Middle East country - and are met at the airport then they go to their new home. The husband drops the bombshell that he is smuggling bibles into the country (or something like that) the wife is not impressed. We also hear from another girls point of view and she is a teenage girl in the compound where they live - at one point she makes the new white woman a gift of food but it doesn't go to well.
Any ideas would be greatfully recieved.
