My turn to choose book for my book club,which of these two should i go for?

Had decided to go for " The hand that first held mine " but now i am wondering if it is too similar to the last two that we have read.This months read is The Hothouse flower (a definate disappointment),last month was the Swimmer by Roma Tearne and the month before was The Help(a big hit.)

Books which have been a hit in the past include Secret River,One Day,The Outcast ,Wolf Hall ,The Piano Teacher

Really want to read the Maggie O'Reilly but I am wondering if the Water with Elephants might be fun as we could combine with a summer cinema trip.Have read mixed reveiws of the Sara Gruen ,but all positive re the O'Reilly.

any views?

FWIW I'd suggest you go with Water for Elephants. We've just read that as a Book Club and some good debate and mixed opinion (plus, as you say the cinema outing )
