My Cousin Rachel, anyone read it?

I should ahve read it by tomorrow night but haven't

It was our book club choice last month and I need a bit of a precis!

I know that I should own up, but this is the umpteenth time I have not read a book. I have seen the film years back so have a bit of an idea.

I read it a few years ago. This young guy inherits a nice big house from his guardian and is living the life of Riley. His long-lost cousin Rachel comes to stay. She is under suspicion of (can't quite remember) murdering or trying to murder someone for their money.

He find himself falling for her but can't decide whether or not to trust her and his feeling switch back and forth till the story reaches its deadly climax...

I've read it - a while ago too. Too be honest the young guy really annoyed me cos he couldn't see through her... grrrr.... Have you read any other Daphne Du M ? You could always say 'I didn't like it as much as ' and then go off on a tangent about that one !! Especially if its Rebecca as a lot of people have read that and will talk about that !! I saw the play the other day which was no where near as good as the book but now I'M going off thread ...

talk about how you can't necessarily trust the narrator's view - that although he presents as being the reasonable one, and Rachel the devious suspicious one, is that right way round?
