...about a spy who boarded a train at Berkhamsted.

It may have been an Ian Fleming Book? I read it a long time ago so that's all I remember! Any help out there?

Is it The Human factor - Graham Greene?

goodbyemrschips · 13/04/2011 20:11

Dr. No?

Im thinking Graeme Greene as well. Our man in Havana? Ok he wasn't in Berkhamsted he was in Havana, but perhaps he commuted from Berkhamsted?

Any chance it was non-fiction - Paul Theroux's "Great Railway Bazaar"?

Try the amazing Abe Books' Book Sleuth: forums.abebooks.com/abesleuthcom. The community there managed to find a long-lost children's book within hours.

Graham Greene was born in Berkhamstead so I'd be inclined to see if it's one of his....

The Human Factor?

queenrollo · 14/04/2011 14:44

"In The Human Factor Graham Greene portrays Castle's journey home by train from work in London to Berkhamsted station and his bicycle ride 'the longer way home? across the canal bridge, past the Tudor school?'

copied and pasted from elsewhere so it seems easterchick is right...
