Come and recommend me some misery memoirs

I like the ones where there is grinding poverty rather than just gratuitous violence. I re-read Once in a House on Fire the other day, I'd forgotten how great it is. Other favourites are The Glass Castle and Angela's Ashes. Didn't care for Ugly or its ilk.

Any recommendations?
