Can anyone help me with tracking down a book if I give a (vague) recollection of what it was about??

It was about a group of children who could fly, and were being bred (I think) for some experiment. They lived in a place in the woods, and only as they grew older did they find out that they were different and what their purpose was to be.

It was by a well-known, mainstream author I think.

Any ideas? I will be amazed if you do Smile

Was it a John Grishamy type thing? I have memories of something similar. Off to Google!

Abebooks forum used to have a whole section for tracking down these half remembered books. Don't know if it still does but you could have a poke around...

When the wind blows by Jmaes Patterson

Maximum Ride by James Patterson? I'm pretty sure this is the one I'm thinking of at least Grin

It was a teen novel, and there was a sequel. But I can't remember the author. Was recent though, last decade.

James

Goblinchild · 29/03/2011 22:03

That's the one I was thinking of tribpot. Smile

Was it "When the wind blows" by James Patterson? About a female doctor and her neighbour and ex FBI man who find flying children in the woods.

Bumply · 29/03/2011 22:05

James Patterson has written books about children who are 98% human 2% bird.

AimingForSerenity · 29/03/2011 22:06

Damn x-post. But do check out when the wind blows as it sounds very similar

NottsCounting · 29/03/2011 22:16

Yay!! It's 'When The Wind Blows' by James Patterson. I guess the teen Max Ride books followed on from that. Stickers to all Smile. MN is far better than google for specific questions like that.

I just bought my dd a book about flying children - 'The Girl Who Could Fly', and ths synopsis rang bells. Now I know why...

Many thanks!
