Have read about a quarter, and just don't feel very inspired to keep reading but not one to give up on a book. Does it get better as it goes on?

I gave up too, but plenty say its great.

RupertTheBear · 28/03/2011 20:22

I liked it - didn't love it though. I would say if it hasn't grabbed you yet then give up. There are too many good books out there to continue reading ones you don't like!

PositiveAttitude · 28/03/2011 20:23

I loved this book. I would say it was worth keeping going, but I loved it right from the start, so maybe just different tastes .Confused

I absolutely loved this book! Do carry on with it, if you can bear to.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 28/03/2011 20:24

The ending is rubbish. I'm not one of those people who will read a book for the sake of it. Life's too short - there are loads of good books out there.

Thanks for replies.

About to have a hot soak and need to read something so will continue for another chapter or two and see how it goes.

Most of my book club loved it.

I didn't like the ending but but found it compulsive from the start. I loved the idea of the book though if that makes sense. I guess you have to finish it now so you can come back and tell us if you though it was worth it!Grin

Loved the ending!

longislandicetea · 29/03/2011 20:57

Am now half way in. Still struggling but interested to know what exactly is bloody well going on! Confused

I loved it, but did find the first couple of chapters tough. It got better after that for me though, though that may have been earlier than halfway so you might not like it at all.

SilverScarf · 01/04/2011 18:56

I read it all - once getting into it, it was great. I felt great empathy with the sentiment, but the end was a complete let down.

MikeRotch · 01/04/2011 18:58

agree
read better than end

CocktailQueen · 01/04/2011 19:35

I liked it - but agree that it gets better after the first couple of chapters. persevere!!

smartyparts · 01/04/2011 19:51

Gah! my dh bought me this and I have abandoned it, maybe I should persevere. So uninspiring so far.
