e reader help

I am being given an intempo ebook reader. Can anyone tell me how to download books and where from? can i download from amazon or is it just for kindles? I am getting it next week so is it worth me downloading some ebooks onto my pc now then transferring them when i get it? thanks in advance for any suggestions

I don't know anything about intempos, but the website www.mobileread.com is excellent for all ereaders.

Calibre is a brilliant programme which will organise your e-books on your computer, and also convert them to the right format.

thanks have downloaded calibre and a couple of free ebook classics.
