Actually I've never read it but looked at it many times - is it good? I need a new book..

Yes, it's good. I don't think there's a sequel, though. I read his next book - short stories - and was rather disappointed, so haven't tried the next couple of novels, but they seem to have got good reviews, so maybe I should.
