I do like a good browse in Waterstones book shops and make a list of titles I will buy when I have the money.

This week I have bought 7 of the books off my list from a local charity shop for £1 each! Grin

So Thank You to all those who donate their books and I hope they're as good as they sound :)

You lucky bugger!
I love book bargains from charity shops. there is a brilliant Oxfam bookshop in central Dublin that always has loads of good books, but it's not all that cheap - about ?4 for a paperback. Although they usually knock off a few Euros if I buy a lot :)

Grabaspoon · 01/02/2011 20:08

They used to range from 49p to 99p but now are £1 - they're probably full price in oxfam though Grin

Got another one today - the children's book which has been on my list for ages.

So Thank you to all those who donate their books when they are done.

Chapters in in bigger premises on, oh shite, whats the name of the road...back of the Ilac centre? Opposite McDonalds and next to Tesco.

BuzzLightBeer · 03/02/2011 21:46

Parnell St!

You'd think I'd remember that, I used to live on the same street (other end). Blush

If you are near D3 the Vinnie DePaul shop in Fairview does paperbacks 2for a euro, always has loads.

Grabaspoon · 03/02/2011 21:47

Wow E4 for a second hand book.

Are the new books roughly the same prices as English or is it more expensive to buy books in any type.

:)

I love it when you get book bargains in the charity shop.
Our local RSPCA shop sells all fiction paperbacks for 25p. I bought 4 books the other day, all in great condition. Will redonate when I've finished them and they can make nother 25p each.

BuzzLightBeer · 03/02/2011 21:53

Everything is more expensive here. A books about 10-15 euro in Waterstones, a paperback?

they really vary. My closest is in Drogheda and they are really expensive, but Fairview is cheap as chips. Worth a try though.

Grabaspoon · 03/02/2011 22:14

Wow that is expensive.

They range from 5.99-8.99 over here.

Why is everything so expensive?

Have you looked on book depository? They do free delivery worldwide, and sometimes undercut amazon.

:)

I love that this has turned into a thread about Dublin bookshops :o

Maryz, it's on Parliament Street..I do have to say that despite the high prices they always have very good stock.

There's a charity shop in Rathmines (I feel like it's a vdp - anyway it's the one opposite Tesco) that's a Euro a book, I usually find something in there.

It's the street that runs between Dame Street and Capel Street :)

BuzzLightBeer · 03/02/2011 23:26

Its the little road that has the Turks Head on and the fancy kebab shop! Grin
