Oh my gosh- he is brilliant. I am enjoying this so much. Is anyone else reading it?

Is it a new one? When he says at Home, where does he mean? US or UK?

lalamom · 30/01/2011 10:56

I read it a few months ago. It was really good.

belgo · 30/01/2011 11:32

Sounds good.

Scaredofmycomputertoday · 30/01/2011 12:20

It's excellent, I took it on holiday. So interesting.

NicknameTaken · 15/02/2011 16:27

I really liked it. I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't been much of a fanfare around it.

If you read much history, there are no great surprises, but it's so genial and readable and approachable that I found it impossible not to like.

I can't wait to read this - am waiting for it to come out in paperback so hope to pick it up next time I am in the UK. Read some extracts in the Daily Mail - am currently re-reading everything else he has ever written in anticipation!

hocuspontas · 25/02/2011 15:53

Is it in paperback yet? I'm surprised I haven't read it if it is. Love all his stuff. He's gorgeous in rl as well.

ByTheSea · 01/01/2012 21:59

I am reading this now. Brilliant!

AntsMarching · 02/01/2012 11:19

It is in paperback. It's a brilliant book, although I'm very partial to Bill Bryson!

edam · 02/01/2012 11:42

is that the one set in his ex-vicarage in Norfolk? Loved it. Fascinating detail about the history of the home. I vaguely knew a lot of it already, but it's lovely to have it in Bill Bryson's words.

Slightlytinsellyexpat · 02/01/2012 12:00

One of my lovely DDs gave it to me for Christmas. I'm really looking forward to reading it, once I've got my current book group tome out of the way.

blissa · 20/01/2012 17:42

I got this out of the library yesterday. It's a first Bill Bryson for me, only a few pages in but I think I'm going to enjoy it.

MyBrainIsOutOfTune · 21/01/2012 16:19

I've got this on audio book. Haven't got far yet, but am enjoying itSmile

kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/01/2012 16:25

I am going to be the voice of dissent then. I am just not enjoying it which is astonishing. I adore Mr B and have read every thing else he's written.
I will persevere.

TheCrackFox · 21/01/2012 16:37

I loved that book but then I am a massive history geek.

Lexilicious · 21/01/2012 16:50

I loved it too (read on holiday last week) but the bathroom chapter made me and the bedroom chapter (at least I think that's the one he covers childbirth in) made me sad.

Alphafemale · 22/01/2012 23:18

I really wanted to love this nad bought it in hard back but only got about 100 pages in. I love him so must give this another go.

spendthrift · 09/02/2012 23:00

I'm with kreecher. Not up to usual standard..sob

swingingcat · 09/02/2012 23:06

Wasn't overly impressed at all.
