Andrea Levy - The Long Song

Just read this in 3 days, after reading another of hers (completely by chance) - Fruit of the Lemon (which was also good).

Loved it so much, just wanted to recommend it to others. Wonderful characters that you want to know more about once the book is finished, thought provoking, funny, heartbreakingly sad - can't rate it highly enough.

I enjoyed it too.There were a couple of spelling mistakes in it which annoyed me-it was such a gripping story that it seemed a bit careless of the publishers to not have had it proof read properly.

Will look out for Fruit of the Lemon.Thanks.

Small Island is the best of hers, if you've not read it...

Didnt like it at all-didnt sympathise with any of the characters(even though you are very obviously meant to root for the heroine).
