Did anyone else think it was awful? I've read some of her more recent books and haven't minded them, but this one was really awful. The heroine was so egocentric it was impossible to like her.

I haven't seen it in the shops and wondered whether it was remaindered and that's why they were giving them away free.

i enjoyed the book but it was very dated.i didn't think the heroine was likeable at all - i assumed we were supposed to not like her.
her later books are v v bland compared to this aren't they?

I got that free with a magazine when I was at uni.

I left Uni in 2003.

Has she really not written anything else since then???

Just ordered it - wish I'd chosen a different one now! Something to look forward to...!

i have got this too ..... is it really so awful Sad

HappySeven · 10/01/2011 14:21

It was ok but I agree that I had read some of her more recent stuff which I enjoyed alot more and was disappointed.

Not bad for free although I thought it was sad that I would have avoided her others if I'd read this first and so it wouldn't work as a marketing exercise if you see what I mean.

Aristocat, t's dreadful, really.

The main character is tremendously attractive (you keep getting told that) whose friends keep having the nerve to talk about themselves instead of about her. All the men in it continually tell her how gorgeous she is - every so often she sees herself in the mirror and agrees.

She's a tv producer (yawn) and an absolute marvel.

She reminded me of some of the women who post on AIBU - eg "Am I unreasonable for thinking I'm so superior?"
