I've just started this, partly, I must admit, because I read somewhere she had to abridge the book for paperback publication because she'd been so rude about people she describes that the publisher had to edit stuff to avoid litigation! Don't know if it's true but I think I have the first edition. She is already being very rude about people. I don't warm much to her I must say but I admire her CaHoonas or however you spell them!
Also I know that when men write like this no one is that bothered but women are always supposed to be so nicey nicey.
Also the book does sail deeply into the waters of pseud's corner at times. But hell how else can you write about Italy I guess.
