Is the most joyful (utterly without schmaltz though) book I've read in ages.

Seconded! Lovely book!

I loved it too, gave it to my mum and she didn't like it. Boo.

I gave it to my mother and although she liked it, she wasn't as enthusiastic. I think it is a real 'feel good' book.

MaeMobley · 21/11/2010 10:08

Annoyingly it is not on Kindle.

It's gorgeous. I adore it. The film is v good too except for the woman who also played Moaning Myrtle's annoyingly squeaky voice.

Ive seen the film but not read the book, there is a similar book called Flowers for Mrs Harris. Its about a charlady in the 1950's who saves her money to go to Paris and buy a Dior dress!! Brilliant book!!

Agreed, it is fantastic! The movie is also really delightful.
