Lovely Bones.. not so - bit contrived for me.

(as tho 5 people wasn't!-but it was just more .... hmmmm.....realistic/possible/empathetic?)

I've read another by Mitch Albom too that was great too! Not read Lovely Bones but gonna put it on my 'to read' list!

It is a very thought provoking book, in the way I was thinking who would I meet? Probably nobody! But it did show how things happen that we might not even notice but which affect others.

aimsmum - i liked lovely bones v much (as i said!) but thinking about it, you are right, the ending was a let down in a way. i would have liked 'closure' !!!!

i would have had her meet her killer in the afterlife - although thinking about it, maybe that's too obvious! or at least her body be discovered, or something that makes you go

aahhhh. and give you that ending feeling!

The Five people You Meet In Heaven is MUCH MUCH better than We Need To Talk About Kevin (which I found completely unreadable!). Really liked The Lovely Bones too - apart from the "sex scene" bit which I didn't like at all.

I have just finished reading The 5 People You Meet in Heaven and thought it was very good. Easy to read and I just wanted to keep on reading!

Didnt ever manage to finish Lovely Bones.

I have also just finished the book about Holly Wells written by her father Kevin - Goodbye Dearest Holly - that was a very good (and sad at times) read - I would recommend.

Now I think I need to find a 'happy' book to read!
