Not sure I understand what you mean by a circular story, Super? I ploughed my way through it. I enjoyed some of it but was disinterested in many of the characters. I think David Thingie had lots of ideas for short stories and then just cobbled them together with a tenuous link!! I have to do a short presentation on it for my real life book group soon - I'll probably have to plagiarise something about it from Amazon or Mumsnet!!

hi
thought was a wonderful book, big fan of DM
i think his expert use of language is fantastic, few people are that able. in this book he writes in different voices and clearly in different styles/ genres. i think some work better that others but his ease with languange is an absolute pleasure.
just as a note some of the characters show up in another of his books.

Loved the whatsername Lucia Ray? bits because I love all those Seventies conspiracy movies and it was just like that. Enjoyed most of the others. Sonmi was a very thoughtprovoking character. thought it was really pretty hard work to have to start again with a whole new lot of characters every 80 pages - usually that's just about where I am really enjoying a book.
