Oh wow this thread has taken me back!

Milly molly mandy was my absolute fav! was it billy brunt who lived down the road? i loved the one where the family made mmm her own bedroom, and put a jam jar with flowers in it! These books reminded me of the mobile library that mum used to take us to. you can choose two books! oh the simple pleasures!

Claudine at st claires def the best one, "orrible freckles!" Cant wait to be able to share all these with dd whose only just 9 and half months! im 1973 by the by!

1972 - or was that obvious?!

Saw the Magic Faraway Tree for sale in Asda the other day, my nephew has just finished reading my original. They have changed the names from Jo, Fanny, Bess and Dick, to Joe, Fran, Betsy and Rick. how politically correct is that? Enid B would be turning in her grave!

also read Milly Molly Mandy and loved it - haven't seen it for years!

The Book People have a set of 4 MMM books in for about £4.99 - saw them in latest catalogue.

Am lovin this thread. Does anyone remember Polly and the Wolf? I LOVED these books. Our current dog looks remarkably like the Wolf and is of a similar IQ. Still have the books but have lost MNLS ones . Loved Bad Harry and his boing boing curls. Or was it one of MNLS's friends? And didn't she cut them off? Or am I morphing this with what my Dad did to his little brother?? Having a senior moment here......

Cha · 26/01/2006 16:47

Am 1967 so allowed to have senior moments.

Filyjonk · 26/01/2006 17:21

Oooh I loved these books. Somehow a natural progression from Shirley Hughes. Same illutrator maybe?

I don't suppose anyone remembers Aurora? Or the 6 Bullerby children?

I was born in 1977 btw.
