book clubs .. is this the right place?

are any of you in RL book clubs? what would one expect from going to one please?

I am.

We meet the first thurs of every month - the person whose house it is chooses the next book (usually we have a theme for the year).

We eat, drink, spend a couple of hours gossiping, then 15 mins to 30 mins discussing the book and scoring it. No pressure to have finished the book/ turn up each month although persitant non attendance with no good reason is not ideal.

Is a good evening (and makes you read different things...)
