...it has all got VERY furry!

Yes, there has been miles of sex and mostly pretty mild fetishistic stuff in them, but furry, really?!

ive never read her stuff, any good?

I was enjoying them until bk12, after that I guess it depends how you feel about anthropomorphic animal/human sex. It has definately put me off!

Before then, I found them well written, enjoyably complex characters, interesting Sipernatural crime plots. They do have progressively more sex in them, so depends how you feel about that also. It starts with Guilty Pleasures I think. They're by Laurell K Hamilton

I back laweaselmys comments. I loved them up to Obsidian Dreams and now they've become more sex than plot, and not greatly written sex. A shame for such a great series to change so much over a short period. I've yet to read anymore in this series as it's just too annoying.

But, I know people who prefer her later stuff, I think they came to it later and possibly because that's the 'type' they read before.

I can almost tolerate the Meredith Gentry plot/sex percentage as at least it started out that way. I just refuse to pay full price, either borrow from the library or pick them up cheap on eBay.

ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Do yourselves a favour and DON'T READ PAST OBSIDIAN BUTTERFLY which I think is book 9 of the series.

I've been reading these books for years and years and up to and including Book 9 are really good, enjoyable characters and most importantly the books have some sort of plot. Now this is not to say the books are any sort of literature, total popcorn fiction, but they're so enjoyable and Anita is very kick ass!

Laurell K Hamilton has lost soooooo many fans of the Anita Blake series because at that time the author divorced her husband, found a new man and re-discovered sex and bondage. Good for her - I'm glad she's happy, but oh my god do her books suffer for it. They just become porn after book 9, and it gets progressively worse too. They're not even good porn, it's like watching a really bad made-for-guys porn with absolutely no plot - she may as well just have plumbers come in to fix her....you get the idea

I bought her books up until 2 books ago, then I gave up with her being able to write a decent plot ever again. I'll not be buying another Laurell K Hamilton book.
