I just love em! Looking forward to new one out this week to find out how he survived the explosion. The man in my local bookshop also loves them, and says I am the only woman who ever buys them!

Surely he is wrong? I love the detail Lee Child writes in and love the way Jacks mind works. Am I wierd?

No I love him as does DH and PIL, have read them all and loved all of them apart from the one that starts on a train with suicide bomber, didn't get into that one at all.

Nope, another female Reacher fan here. Haven't read 61 hours yet (reserved from library, only got it last Saturday, let DH have it first because he's miserable at work, I'm soooo nice!)
DH tells me it's a cliffhanger so about to pre-reserve the next one on the library website.

oh 61 is really good - quite different from the others. You will learn more about Jack and why he is the way he is.

I lovr Jack Reacher - both the books and the man :)

tribpot · 27/09/2010 21:54

Nah, lots of women read the books - I have no idea what the next book is about but I would have thought Lee Child would hedge his bets and make this another prequel?

windowsandwalls · 27/09/2010 21:54

I've read one, and have others to start, just never seem to get around to it. Actually I wanted to get all the books and read in sequence - does it matter if you read them in random order?

I am a massive fan ... can't wait for the new one!

hocuspontas · 29/09/2010 08:09

Jack is mine, all mine so hands off! I really thought in 61 hours he was going to start a relationship with Susan so I wasn't looking forward to that Grin. I guessed the baddie straight away, do you think we were we supposed to? Looking forward to how he escapes...

simpson · 29/09/2010 21:54

Will fight you for JR Grin

I love his books Grin

Did not realise another one was out so soon, you have made me day Smile

harassedinherpants · 30/09/2010 14:13

I only discovered them a few months ago and love them!!

Was very chuffed to get two I haven't read at car boot on Sunday. 3 books for £1 Grin.

Couldn't tell you which ones they were, I went to stock up on books for the winter and bought a huge pile. Dh is moaning about the number of books lol.....

No, I know lots of female fans including some on here.

He always hosts a party at crime fiction conventions - the Reacher's Creatures do always has plenty of female attendees. I've only read one but although a lot of the time I like to read books by women writers in all sorts of genres, some of my favourite male writers are very far away from that (my favourite US crime writer is George Pelecanos, and his books are very much about what it means to be a man, really).

At one convention a big group of friends I was with, that included some other crime writers went out for dinner on Sunday night after it had ended, and Lee Child was in the party. By some weird chance dp and I ended up sat in the centre of the table practically opposite, and he told us various stories and then picked up the bill for dinner - for a party of about 16 people I think. He said he'd just got a really good new contract. I did buy one of his books at the airport on the way home after that, although that's not the one I actually got round to reading....

So I think he's a really nice man.

I love them too... I've read all of them and depressed now I have to wait for a new one!

atswimtwolengths · 02/10/2010 18:31

I like Lee Child's books, but haven't been able to read them since reading this.

Read it yourself, then pick up one of his books - it's impossible to read them afterwards!
