Two books on the go at a time....

Hi All,

I am an avid reader but have always stuck to one book at a time.

Do any of you have more than one you are reading at any one time and how do you find it? Or have you tried it and not liked it?

I have a pile of books in my "to read" pile and thought if I kept one in the car for when I am waiting for DS etc I would quite enjoy it but am wondering how practical it is.

All my other reading is done tucked up in my bed for an hour before I sleep.

I have three, no, four books on the go at the moment, and I just choose the one I'm in the mood for.

I regularly have two or sometimes even three books on the go at once.

I have bedtime reading - nothing too exciting, just sort of 'comfort reading'. Currently the complete Sherlock Holmes (have read a lot before so can pick up and put down).

I usually also have a book for my work commute - something a bit more gripping, sometimes scary as I can't read scary things at night .

Then sometimes I have another book for the evenings while DD is having her pre-bath TV.

I find it works well for me and I don't have to keep running up and down stairs for the same book. I think it works because I have regular times spread out through the week for each book so there is rarely too large a gap.

Of course sometimes I will take an evening read upstairs to bed if I am about to finish it etc so they are a bit interchangeable.

I have two at the moment. 'The Secret Life of Bees' and Bill Bryson's 'Made In America." The latter was started so I could have a break from 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' which I eventually finished.

Oh I love the Secret Life of Bees! The movie is great too. :) I usually read more than one at a time;I just read a bit from whatever one I feel like at the time.

oh i always have a few on the go - so many books - so little time...

I usually have 2 or 3 on the go as well, one upstairs, one downstairs & one book for my course (not sure if that counts though!)

I generally try to make sure they're different genres otherwise I find they can become interchangeable!
