16 Year old girls - suggestions?

Here is a two hour challenge - I am working in a bookshop until 3.30 - a teacher is looking for a book for a class of 15-16 year old girls, no chick lit, no sex as it is a convent school in Ireland. She is thinking of 'Life of Pi'. All suggestions welcome!

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon?

I love that one....I wonder would the language be a problem? (My ds's class did a Roddy Doyle when they were 16, but they aren't a convent school!)

Oh you big spoilsport, can't I say any thing by Jackie Collins??? I loved them at that age.

What about Mary Stanley's 'missing'. That's an excellent book for a group of teenage girls actually.

here you go, gets the full five stars so far on Amazon

I have never read Mary Stanley, I will give her a go myself. I imagine they'd love Jackie Collins, I loved Jilly Cooper. My dd1 is 16 and reads a lot, sex and chick lit is OK with her!
