Which one shall I read first?

I am finished Uni for the Summer and have time now to read for pleasure again. I have Roots by Alex Haley and The Border Triology by Cormac McCarthy gathering dust and begging to be read. Which would you read first?

Roots is in my top 10 favourite books, ever! So, I would have to read the Border Triology first, to save Roots. - maybe I'm wierd, though!!!!

I have a book shelf of books to be read and I always keep one on there that I am really looking forward to reading, then it keeps me reading all the others first, til I get another good one to wait for...... it makes sense in my head, but makes me sound like a nutcase when I try and explain it!
