I thought it would be nice to start a thread for anybody starting WW in 2026, to motivate each other and share tips and recipes!

My starting weight is 14st 7 and I’d like to eventually get down to 9st 8 which is the middle of a “healthy” bmi range for me. My main motivation is to get healthier, as I’ve had a few health issues over the past couple of years and I want to make sure I live a long life for my kids.

Determined to get the healthy habits in this year!!

Hi, I’m thinking of signing up to WW. I lost 6 stone on it about 15 years ago and a stone has crept on. Possibly a stone and a half over Christmas!!! I’ve also got two teen kids that if I’m honest are a bit overweight and picking up on my bad habits of eating when tired or stressed. Do you go to a class or just the app?

I signed up this morning. Starting weight is 11.10 and I want to get to 9.7 at some point! Today hasn't been the greatest start as we ended up getting a takeaway. I was moderate in my choices though and didn't have any alcohol or extras!

I thought WW had gone bust?!

Foxyloxy89 · 02/01/2026 23:09

Nope. Still alive and kicking!

What are the best things to get from a takeaway for WW? Obviously I guess portion sizes are the main thing?

I’ve just started (again). Determined this time but would love to join a support thread. My official weigh day is Friday but suspect I am about 12 st 7lb. Want to get to 9.10.

Currently wfh full time and perimenopausal with two kids so have been finding it hard to maintain healthy eating and exercise habits. My goals are:

Follow the plan (log everything)
10,000 steps a day - gym twice a week.
2 litres of water
Glass of wine (weekends only)

Good luck everyone.

I weighed myself this morning 12st 4lb. I am not surprised after Christmas. I was looking at my weight-loss on the app last time I did ww and I lost 2 stone over 4 months in lock down.

This time I have to be mindful that I am heading into menopause and now working full time and less active so I need to think in terms of slow and steady weight loss and reembedding healthy habits and it’s not always about the numbers on the scales and to not get despondent.

Morning self pep talk 😀

WW has always been my most successful diet (until I put the weight back on 😆), so I’ve signed up with the special offer and rejoined. 13st with a minimum of 3st loss needed to get me back in decent BMI range (I’m a shortie!) Am in early 50s and not expecting the weight to fall off, but am in it for the long haul as the weight gain is having a big impact on my overall health. Slow and steady wins the race! I am really liking that WW is estimating protein intake based on what you have eaten - it’s really helping me to make I’m getting enough!

Purplemushroom · 10/01/2026 08:38

Me too, I know ww works if I stick to it. I’ve had a few false starts in the last couple of years where I’ve got frustrated with the slow and steady approach. But that is the way it has to be. I am also early 50’s and vertically challenged!

Its a good shout about the protein tracker, I am sure I’m not getting enough as a vegetarian.

I’m struggling a bit today knowing there are certain things I just can’t really eat. I know there are WW versions but I’m not a great cook it just feels bad. Looked a small steak pie - 20points - I have 23 a day and couldn’t justify weeklies. Maybe I need to wait a bit till I’m better at understanding 0point food.
