Hello everyone!
Could anybody recommend a nice, thick soup recipe which is either hopefully zero points on WW blue, please? Or the least points as possible. Or fat free. Or indeed burns more calories than it contains 😂 Am thinking this is going to be the way to go for lunch this winter. 😁 Hope I’ve managed to post this in the right place ! 🤞 Thank you all.

Did you find a recipe @Snorklette ?

I'm always interested in new soup recipes.

Sadly not! I resorted to WW soup in a tin. If you come across a nice, hearty soup slimming soup then do let me know. We can start Soup Club. 😁

I ended up making soup tonight, I was planning to have salad but fancied sweetcorn in soup.

It was a last minute really lazy soup, not how I'd normally do it but it turned out nice.

Boiled the kettle, poured it in a saucepan.
Added 2 stock cubes.
Added frozen broccoli, cauliflower and spinach.
A big pinch of coriander and thyme, then salt & pepper.
Added red onion and 2 chopped garlic cloves.
Some fresh chilli.
Then a spoonful of sweetcorn.
Worcestershire sauce.

It was nice.

I reckon most soups would be zero points unless you are adding cream or sweet potato (but I don't count oil).

I always start with onion and garlic, stock of some form and then add some combo of veg and spice/herbs. No fat yoghurt is good if you want it to be creamy. A spoonful of harissa or pesto would be a point or two but nothing much.

Some current favourites:

  • carrot and coriander
  • lentil and tomato
  • broccoli and cauliflower with chilli
  • butternut squash with smoked paprika
  • turkey taco (basically ground turkey mince, can of beans, tomato, mexican spices)

I find soup to be quite filling even if it isn't particularly hearty. You could add a can of beans, or some lentils into most soups without any issue I reckon. I am a "make it up as you go along" kind of soup gal, though!

I saw you said "as few points as possible". A small amount of reduced fat cheese when grated is low in points and makes a big difference to excitement levels too, I reckon.

Avoid coconut milk if you care about points. For some reason, WW hates coconuts and even the reduced fat coconut milk is high on points.

If you use spray oil instead of olive oil this soup is virtually point free, delicious and very filling.

Oooh you lovely soup people! Thank you very much for the suggestions. I will definitely give the lentil ones a go. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I did in fact lose a stone and a half without any soup assistance. However as I have now spent 6 weeks stuffing my face with no thought for my chunky thighs, I will again be in need of soup.😉
(possibly the most times I have ever said soup in a conversation 😂)

The soup recipes on the app are fab. I love the potato leek and bacon
