Just started WW. I ate what I considered a normal breakfast (3 eggs) + a balanced healthy lunch and dented only 4 points of my allowance out of 26 (Lentils, green beans, prawns and coconut milk). Not sure what to think. Does it work?

Not really.

WW tries to make the maths easier but there really isn't any way to bypass the fact that you lose weight if the calories you burn are more than the calories you eat, and gain weight if it is the other way around. It is perfectly possible to gain weight or fail to lose any whilst following all the WW rules, and also possible to successfully lose weight. Those who are successful are consciously or otherwise keeping their portions of "points free" stuff modest, and generally restricting their intake more than the rules would technically allow.

Which plan are you on?

WW does work, but if you’re on a plan where things like eggs, fish etc are ‘free’ it is VERY easy to overdo it.

I’m on the green plan, where only most fruits, veg and some other limited things are ‘free’ which makes it better I think!

I have lost a stone in 4 weeks. It does work, but you do need to be mindful of portions etc. I know people who eat like 8 portions of fruit a day and wonder why they don’t lose weight!

If you want more accountability and portion control you could do the green plan?

I switched to green. Thank you for your advice

I follow green, to lose weight I need to eat under my 30 pts daily allowance. I’m still within the blue healthy eating zone so I’m guessing it’s there for a reason.

I find it curious that another female who is 2.5/3 stone heavier than me has the same number of points per day. I think the new system is too broad but you can wriggle it to make it work on a personal level. I wonder how many people they lose as I’ve never seen a coach advise someone who is not losing to eat less.....
