Tell me what I need to know. Tempted by the free trial. What can I expect?

I signed up with daily mail free month trial. It’s not worked for me. I find it to complicated. I therefore want to cancel but apparently I can’t until April as ‘the free trial ‘ was then followed by an unknown subscription! I’m furious!
