Hi all, been looking up the new plan as considering joining. Would someone mind explaining the difference between the 3 colour plans
I’ve tried SW in past but it’s not worked for me (mainly down to me not sticking to it)
Debating whether to bite the bullet and do group - although when it returns to be face to face it’s a bit of a faff to get to or just go on line (I think the pressure of a weigh in and the rewards are good motivators though it’s just group locations aren’t great for me)
Thanks

Hi OP. I've just joined WW again on Monday. There is a quiz you do that tells you which colour plan you're most suited to! I've joined online only atm but would like to go to a few groups when Covid allows as I think it motivates me more. Have you done ww before?

catg78 · 11/11/2020 18:07

Thanks for the reply, no I haven't done it before - I've always rejoined SW but it's just never worked for me so thought I'd look into it!
Took the plunge this morning and joined - am on the blue plan - what about you. How are you finding it
Didn't have chance to read it all today so weighed in but have eaten normally (badly!) today :)

I find WW is better for me as it's more restrictive than SW! I couldn't limit my pasta portions etc. A jacket potato cheese and beans is free on SW (or it was when I last did it) but it's about 17 points on WW! I'm the green plan. It's working well so far and it's easy enough to swap! Keep me posted on how you get on! Smile

Morning, I've just joined. I started on green but I didn't get on with it so now I'm on blue. I think blue has more zero point foods. I'm struggling a bit and resorting to soup most nights as I know it's safe!!
I also did SW for years so WW is hard to get head around!

mrshadders · 14/11/2020 07:48

Oh no @Thisyearcandoone soup would never fill me up! Have you checked out Pinch of Nom? Their recipes are amazing and the website says how many points each meal is per plan!

Kiki275 · 17/11/2020 21:26

Hi, I've been doing it for donkeys on various plans.
Purple - fewer daily points but the most zero point options which include fruit & veg, lean proteins & wholewheat carbs (pasta & rice)
Blue - a larger amount of dailies and a good selection of zeros: fruit & veg, eggs, lean proteins.
Green - the most dailies but zero foods limited pretty much to fruit & veg.

They all have their advantages. Purple is great for throwing complete meals together without worrying about portion sizes or points (a bit like SW). Green is great if you fancy more red meat or need the most points for a meal out or drinks. Blue strikes a happy medium.

You can always switch your plan, so don't feel you need to stick to one forever x

I've started this week too and am on blue plan, I've put on over a stone in the last few months as I fell into really bad habits.

I'm going to struggle most with dinners, can keep on track at work with lunch and less snacking but it all falls apart when I get home

mrshadders · 21/11/2020 07:39

How's everyone doing? I've lost 6lbs in 2 weeks which I'm really happy with. I hope I can keep it up!

Kiki275 · 21/11/2020 11:52

@Funatish I find dinners the easiest bit but lunches etc the worst. I'm a huge fan of both Pinch of Nom and hairy dieters for ideas for tea.
What do you normally go for and I'll see if I can find an alternative? x

@mrshadders that's brilliant! A good start is great for motivation and keeping the ball rolling x

Funatish · 21/11/2020 13:06

Thanks @Kiki275! It's portion control with carbs which is my downfall, so easy to go off track!

Fallulah · 21/11/2020 13:14

I’m on green. If I stick to it it works really well. Sticking is the kicker though! I’ve never done SW but other people have said Purple is like SW because of the lack of portion control and huge amount of free food. Doesn’t work for me - I need to count everything as portion size is my issue!

What I like about WW is all the other stuff in the app - recipe builder, what’s in your fridge, online work outs etc. They’ve really put some effort in over lockdown to keep people going even though we couldn’t go to meetings.

Kiki275 · 21/11/2020 13:44

@Funatish I really like using the packets of micro rice (6SP for half) or just add hot water cous cous (5SP?) bundles of egg noodles (4SP) etc. Makes it really hard to do too many. Also try new potatoes instead of mash etc. I love them with Heinz light mayo (1SP) rather than butter x

Or batch cook, Pinch of Nom do loads of pasta bakes etc. Plug the recipe into the app and then portion accordingly (say 4 instead of 6) x
