Anyone remember the 'old' weight watchers plan?

Years ago my mum and subsequently myself, followed an early version of the weight watchers plan (before points). From memory I think is was something like 4 portions of carbs, for portions of protein etc. It really worked when I did it and I would like to do it again as I seem to remember it being quite easy to follow. Does anyone else remember it or have any information on what it involved?

Thanks!

xx

It worked for me too, so I'd definitely be interested if anyone does know about it.

Just googled and there's stuff on Pinterest. It was Weight Watchers exchange, Quick success.

Yes, I remember Smile That was the plan in use when I very first joined in the mid 90s. I had a magnetic planner stuck to the fridge and I'd track my protein, carbs, fat, fruit/veg and water portions.

We then moved onto Points, then to ProPoints and now we have SmartPoints.

I've been a Gold member for many years and I still go to classes. I'm still a recovering over eater and always will be Blush

I remember vintage points, that was the most effective plan for me. I tried a lot of other diets since but nothing has ever given me the same weight loss.

I started just as vintage change to Propoints - I loved Propoints with 49 weeklies and got to goal on it. Still miss it! So much more restrictive now imo and encouraged you to eat fruit and veg as most were zero unlike pointing a banana previously.

I joined WW in 1998, doing the ‘123-success 2000’ points plan. It worked really well for me, I got to goal in about eight months. Then I moved country, kept at goal weight for a good 12 years, but then lots of life-stuff happened, redundancy, death of parent, new super-stressful job ... leading to weight gain.
I was clearing out the attic at the start of lockdown and found a box with all my old WW stuff ... all the books, leaflets, tracking sheets, shopping book, eating out guide, points calculator etc.
I started doing the plan and have lost two stone since March. Still two to go, hoping for at least one more by Christmas.

I remember there was a limit on the number of eggs and you were supposed to eat liver once a week. I also had the magnetic planner!
