WW meetings/plan

Thinking of going to Weight Watchers tomorrow evening. Need to get 3 stone off. Have previously attended Slimming World, but feel that this does not teach portion control and moderation.
2 and a half years and anxiety and Citalopram and I have completely lost my ‘enough’ feeling.
Is it reasonable to assume I will get some help there and be able to reset my portion control?
How do the meetings work?

I joined weight watchers middle of January with the aim to lose 3 stone, so far I've lost 1st 10lbs. I do meetings and online, it's handy to have the online support and the food diary. The meetings are fairly straightforward, you get weighed and they have an informal meeting after. Just talking about things in general, or a specific thing that someone wants help with. Certificates are awarded as well for your first 5%, 10%, one stone etc but you don't have to collect these in front of people if you're shy, just let your leader know. Sometimes I stay for the meeting and sometimes I don't but I do go every week to be weighed as this keeps me on track in the week. Knowing I have to be weighed is what I need.

ButterfliesandMoths, thank you, that’s encouraging.
Is there some kind of online calculator for pointing random food, or does it not work like that?
Also, how much? I don’t seem to be able to find that info, tho obviously I will know tonight :-)

There is an online calculator if you choose to do online as well as meetings. But is you're only doing meetings then I think you'll be able to buy a weigh watchers smartpoints calculator there that you input the nutritional information into and it gives you the points.
If you check out the weight watchers site you'll be able to see the pricing and also if they've got any special offers. I originally signed up for three months but only paid for 2. Every little bit helps. So definitely check them out to see any offers.
If you don't sign up for online as well, have a look on Facebook for weight watchers flex groups, very helpful on there and you can pick up all sorts of tips, advice and recipes.
Good luck for tonight.

Thank you again, ButterfliesandMoths! I have done an online chat to find out the prices. Think I will go with the three months for two that you mentioned, and look for a Facebook group for extra tips.

i am thinking of doing this too. I have never found slimming clubs at all useful in the past, and have lost a lot of weight low carbing or counting calories in the past. Nothing is working for me at the moment and i am in despair. Just piling on weight, feeling totally miserable.

I would welcome some support, I am intending to go tomorrow. I hate the emphasis on eating crappy WW bars or snacks etc at these things, but I need to do something.

Has anyone else found WW helpful? I need to lose 4 stones. I know everything there is to know about nutrition and exercise but can't seem to do it for myself this time.

there isn't - these are available for those of us who like a sweet treat or bag crisps and want a lower point alternative - there is no hard sell at any of the meetings I have ever gone too.

I lost 3 stones with WW and been at goal maintaining for 7 years.

Good luck.

No, I have to agree - there was no attempt at all to sell me WW snacks last week. Tonight is only my second meeting. Have managed to stick to it OK, had some crisps, and a meal out.
The scales will tell all tonight!
