Bang on plan from Jan 2nd. 100% on plan for 3 weeks, no change. No weight loss at all.
This week, flex with a couple of no count days thrown in. Invited out for a Chinese for someone's birthday. Zero point food all day, enjoyed the Chinese, didn't drink alcohol to minimise damage.

GAINED THREE AND A HALF FUCKING POUNDS.

So. In 4 weeks I have had one poxy night out, stuck to plan the entire rest of the time and I'm 3.5lb heavier than when I started.

NOW can I say Weight Watchers doesn't work (for me)?!!

I am so gutted. I don't want to be fat anymore, I hate my horrible body. But if I can't even have one night out per month then this definitely isn't for me.

Should I just resign myself to being a lard arse forever? 😩

How much are you eating each day? I know some people are eating just too much zero foods because they are now zero and they are really struggling, I know I cannot eat more than 4 eggs a week otherwise I will stay the same or gain. I am a very slow loser though because of the menopause so for me to lose 1 pound is a big ask some weeks...

Could you be retaining water too? It may be worth you trying some herbal fluid tablets to see if it is that

I'd give it up then. The definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting to get a different result Grin

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 29/01/2018 14:08

That seems strange. Most people I know (including me) are having very good results on flex

When did you weigh? If you weighed the morning after the chinese, you could easily have put on 3lbs as the food is so salty.

Have you only started flex? Personally I would give it a good two weeks on pure flex and see how you get on. I wouldnt swap to no count days to and fro as I think it's easy to make mistakes.

Are you using the app and pointing everything from that?

Give it another month then try SW. However some folk there only lose when doing speed foods, unlimited pasta/rice/potatoes really does not work for them. Metabolism sucks, sorry....

How much in the way of zero point stuff are you eating? I realised I was snacking on way too much fruit which, although zero points, obviously still has calories and in some case plenty of sugar. I've tried to cut that back a little. Also if water retention is an issue try making sure you're drinking plenty.

I've lost 2 stone so far on WW. Struggling a bit at the moment but because I was living on eggs, chicken and fish before I'm finding flex ok. I think the danger with flex is seeing the zero foods as "free" foods. Our coach is very clear they are zero not free. Just because they are zero it doesn't mean they are suddenly magic and won't make you gain weight. There was someone on here eating 2 chicken breasts at a time which seems a bit excessive to me.
I found myself thinking, once I started flex, where I would once have pointed and had 1 egg I'd think ooh I can now have 2, whereas, before I was losing weight I can't see how that would continue if I now ate more. Though our coach does say it's what you DON'T eat because you've ate the zero foods that make it count.
They're zero but not eat as much as you can.

Are you tracking everything on you counting days - it all adds up - like milk in coffee etc.

I'm not saying you've been doing this. Could you post a usual day here in case anyone has any pearls of wisdom.

A few point : you might be healthily , but you might have to reduce your portions . Tbh I think for people new to dieting , it’s a shame there’s no indication anymore about what a normal portion looks like . I just went on the app to check borlotti beans for example . A can is still zero points ... but would be too much .
About quick weight gain : after a heavy meal out this usually is just your body full with food + water retention . Water retention is caused by alcohol , salty foods , sometimes exercises , flu ) for me !) or hormones . Also , if you lose weight you lose water so when you eat normally , it come back . Something like that . It really is a shame they don’t do the portions anymore but there’s a few things you can do : buy portion cups from rosemary Connelly (?) , you can still get them online . Get a diet plate . Get my fitness pal for an idea of calories in certain foods , if you do that for a few weeks you will know your portion size . Talk to your coach . If they can’t help you , they’re not very good ...I think maybe the cool books still give indications of portions ? That should help . Keep going , suddenly the number on the scales will drop . If it doesn’t and you are sure you’re not eating too much , see your gp . Good luck !
